Safety technology automatically removes the fun colours on the Civic*. Make any comments on this correlation as you see fit.
*Unless you buy the Touring. But then you’re paying nearly $28k for a Civic.

so you can get 6 colors. ONLY SIX COLORS!!! This is a crappy age we live in. So we have robots painting the cars and somehow cant get more than 6 colors.
sorry I dont know if that photo is accurate but i just assume you can only choose from six colors and decided to take the opportunity to rant.

Don't blame the manufacturer on this one. Blame the market. if VW made a harlequin Golf now, it would look like it was shot in ,monochrome.

People who like fun colors don’t want safety tech or spending 28K on a Civic??

Except the highest trim is available with the sensing stuff and the colours.

But before you blame the market, blame the dealers. They aren’t going to be keen to order anything different enough that it might end up sitting on the lot. They want the least offensive colors as opposed to the most interesting.

Car colors are pretty much a sea of beige, silver, blue, and white nowadays. So boring!
(Says the driver of a blue car)
I do have a pink truck, though.
That’s dumb that once you pick Honda Sensing you can’t get any fun colors.

People who can drive are the ones buying the colorful cars. People who need active lane keeping and crash prevention systems usually get the boring colors anyways.

That green is the perfect match for the Civic coupe IMO. I am surprised how much I liked the car overall. Styling works much better than the sedan.

I don’t see the problem with a $28K Civic.
It’s a mid-size car by EPA (110 cu ft total interior volume) and IIHS standards (182" long, 106" wheel base). While it’s technically compact by NHTSA standards (2742-2923 lbs), classifying car sizes by weight is just weird.
I, for one, am happy that we live in a world where you can spec your Civic/Focus/Mazda3/etc. with enough cool stuff to warrant a $28K MSRP.

Reasonable. Maybe inflation has just gotten crazy, but I don’t know, that seems a little much to me. Then again, you can also spend over $32k on a Mazda 3 (all prices in CAD), so maybe everything is just expensive.

Inflation definitely has something to do with it, but these cars are also the size of the Accord/Taurus/626/etc. of 30 years ago and have features that debuted on the MB S-class less than 20 years ago and are somehow the same price they’ve been for the last 30 years when you take inflation into account. I think that’s pretty crazy in a wonderful way.

I pointed this out to chevy that the lower trim sonic has/had 10+ colors but if I want the RS I can’t get anything besides white, gray, black, and red. It made no sense to me. I asked why I couldn’t get blue and was told “Well we have decided to not offer it in blue”. Next model year they finally got their shit together and offered it in blue!......But took away the red.

My question about all this is that if they’re all coming down the same production line, why are colours limited? Hell, why can’t I get some interior colours with certain exterior colours? It’s bogus, man.
